This year's NACSRA Conference with the theme "Registrarship: Challenges and Resolutions" was held on February 16, 2023 at the Leong Hall of the Ateneo de Manila University at Katipunan, Quezon City. Participants of the said conference were the School Registrars, Admission Heads, Liaison Officers, and other school representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the National Capital Region.

The participants were warmly welcomed by Dr. Maria Luz C. Vilches, Vice President for the Ateneo Loyola Schools and Acting Vice-President for the Ateneo Professional Schools. She was followed by Gina M. Mijares, NACSRA President, who delivered the Opening Remarks.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) represented by Dr. Julieta M. Paras, CESE, Director IV of CHED-NCR and Atty. Frederick Mikhail I. Farolan, Director IV of CHED Legal and Legislative Office were invited. Dr. Paras presented the CHED NCR Updates wherein she discussed the importance of digitalization for a more efficient process and delivery of service to its clients and other stakeholders, as well as the current projects of her office for digitalization. On the other hand, Atty. Farolan discussed the Legal Issues in Education and tackled a wide range of topics that covered common legal issues in the education sector such as, electronic signatures, data privacy, retention of records. Both speakers expressed their desire to partner with NACSRA for a stronger working relationship between CHED and the HEIs.

The afternoon session of the conference included the topic on Digitization and Digitalization of School Records as presented by a team of University Registrars from Mapua University, Ateneo de Manila University and Jose Rizal University. Their presentation focused on the basic process of records management of student records from admission to graduation, as well as the basic concepts of Digitization and Digitalization. They discussed the difference and importance of digitization and digitalization of school records, as well as the basic process involved in converting manual records into a fully digital records management system.

The last presentation was a discussion on the Health and Mental Wellbeing: Strategies for Registrars as presented by Dr. Ronaldo A. Motilla, Chair of the Psychology department of Miriam College. His lively and animated discussion on Positive Thinking was well received by the audience who were inspired by his practical advice on how to attain a healthy mental wellbeing.

Finally, the conference ended with the closing remarks delivered by Dr. Gerald L. Villar, NACSRA Vice-President who gave a synthesis of all the presentations by the resource speakers.

Indeed, this year’s conference would not have been such a success without the unwavering support and active participation of the HEIs.
